I work in an environment where personal space is always invaded and whether I want to or not....I'm forced to smell people. Sometimes it's a pleasant scent, and sometimes not so pleasant! I have a really good sense of smell, so much so that I can detect if a person showers at night, or in the morning before work, cocktails for happy hour, or cocktails before work hours. It's a gift and a curse.
As a working adult I think it's highly important to be conscious of the scents we give off. If you wear perfume or cologne don't opt for the knock-off brand, or the cheapest brand in your local superstore. It may smell good for the first five minutes, but the longer you wear it the worse it starts to smell. By the time your day has ended you may end up smelling like a big, loud, cloud of funky musk...yuck!!! Invest in a GOOD, noteworthy bottle of cologne or perfume. A large bottle of good smells can last a very long time, and your loved ones, strangers, and co-workers will love you for it!
My signature scent is Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue. The scent is absolutely mesmerizing!!! A good friend turned me on to it a few years ago, and since then I haven't been able to turn it loose. I've tried to give it a break and try new things, but I'm so loyal to people and things that I adore...I just can't! I get endless compliments, I call it my love potion no. 9 haha. It drives men, young and old wild!
A funny story....I was working rather closely to an older Caucasian man, and I noticed he kept looking at me. A few minutes later he blurts out "damn girl, what is that u have on?" I said "it's Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue, but I call it my love potion no. 9...is it working?" He says "hell yeah it's working, that s#*t smells good!" I thanked him, and continued back to working. Less than ten minutes later he say, "I mean you really smell good...my goodness". A few minutes later he moves on the other side of the work area and say, "that stuff is hypnotizing, and I can't afford to be getting in no trouble."
Ladies and Gentlemen, I can't say it too much....it pays to smell good! Hear are my top five perfumes and colognes just incase you have no idea where to start. These can be found at your nearest Sephora, Macy's, Nordstrom's, or Saks Fifth Avenue.
